Age policy
The organizer's Hours & Info page states: "You must be 18+ to enter and 21+ for alcohol/VIP. Photo ID required."
That is the organizer's policy, not ours. This site is written for adults regardless of who the event lets in.

What people trade here
Beyond draws a lot of first-timers and a lot of people who plan an outfit for months, so the trading skews decorative and friendly. Pastels, pearls and clear beads photograph well in daylight and still catch a stage wash after dark — that combination is why the soft palette holds here when it would disappear at a bass show.
The theme is all over the venue. You do not need to put it on a bracelet. Anything drawn from a book illustration, a film character or the event’s own artwork is somebody’s intellectual property, and it is the one kind of trade that can cause you a problem later. Colors and shapes are free; characters are not.
Carry plan
Two days, no camping, San Bernardino in March — hot in the afternoon, cold after sundown. You will be carrying a jacket. Put the trade stack on the arm that stays uncovered.
If you are going with a crew, string one shared palette and let everyone pick their own phrase. It reads as a set from across the field without any of you making the same bracelet twice.
Bag policy
Read the event’s official page for the year you are attending — Hours & Info is where the current list lives. Clear-bag dimensions, clutch sizes, hydration-pack rules and prohibited items all live there and they get revised between editions.
Wear your kandi in on your arms. A bag of loose beads and cord is the thing that gets a second look at the gate.

Trade etiquette, short version
Ask before you trade. Never pull anything off somebody's arm, and never take a piece somebody says is a keeper. If someone says no, that is the whole answer — you are not owed a trade, and neither are they. A gift is a gift: accepting one does not put you in debt.

Leave no trace
Loose beads are litter. Cut cord ends, dropped letter beads and the plastic bags they came in all end up on the ground where you strung them. String over a tray or a towel, bin the offcuts, and pack out what you brought in — campgrounds especially.
