Privacy policy

PLURcraft (plurcraft.com) collects very little, and this page lists all of it. Reading patterns needs no account and no cookie from us. Last updated August 2026.

This site is for adults

PLURcraft is written for people 18 and over. It is not directed to children, we do not design, write or photograph anything for them, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Signing up for the email list, making an account and posting a stack all require you to be 18 or older. If you believe someone under 18 has given us information, email hello@plurcraft.com and we will delete the account and everything attached to it.

Email sign-ups

If you use the sign-up form we store your email address, which page the form was on, the date, and a one-way hashed, truncated version of your IP address — used only for spam and abuse prevention, never to identify you. The address is used to send new charts, twice a month at most. We do not sell, rent or share it. Reply to any email, or write to hello@plurcraft.com, and you come off the list.

Accounts

An account is optional; it exists so you can save patterns, favorite things and post to Stacks. There is no password — you sign in by clicking a one-time link sent to your email, which means we store your email address, an optional display name, and the sessions that keep you signed in. The session is a cookie set by this site and nothing else; it is not shared with anyone and it is not used for advertising.

Delete your account from your settings page and it goes, along with the patterns you saved, the photos you uploaded, your likes and your favorites. Moderation records of anything that was taken down are kept without your account attached to them, because a takedown log that disappears when the account does is not a log.

What you upload

Patterns you save, photos you attach and the story you write about a trade are stored so we can show them back to you and, if you submit them, to a moderator. Nothing you upload is public until a person has approved it. Photos should be of your own work — please do not upload a picture of somebody who has not agreed to be on a public page.

Reports

When someone reports a stack we store what they reported, what they wrote, a hashed IP, and their email address if they gave one. A copyright notice is handled the way the DMCA page describes, which includes passing the notice to the person who posted the material.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to see which pages get read and roughly how people find the site — page views, referrers, and location at the country or region level. It runs only if analytics is configured for the site you are looking at; if it is not, no analytics script loads at all. GA4 uses cookies and similar technology; see Google's privacy policy for how Google handles that data. We do not run ad networks, retargeting pixels or third-party trackers, and we do not buy advertising aimed at children's interests.

Anti-abuse

Sign-in emails, submissions and reports pass through Cloudflare Turnstile and a rate limiter keyed on a hashed identifier. That is what stands between this site and a bot with a bead catalogue, and it is the only reason we touch an IP address at all.

Affiliate links

Product links may be affiliate links — clicking one and buying something can earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you. The retailer has its own privacy policy for the purchase; we never see or store your payment details. Details on the affiliate disclosure page.

What we don't do

Changes

If what we collect changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. Anything that materially affects accounts gets an email to the people who have one.
